HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE

The City of Alpine is now accepting applications for the allocation of 2019 Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds for organizations and entities who feel that they qualify for such funding.

Events conducted by your organization may qualify for a grant of HOT Funds if your event or events promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry. Each year, Alpine City Council approves an amount of HOT Funds to be allocated to outside organizations for this purpose. Individual organizations are then awarded an amount based on the scoring criteria set forth in the HOT Fund policy as directed by Texas Tax Code, and the organization’s ability to draw tourism from the outside the area.

Please visit the HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUNDING page on the city website for the policy guidelines, application and other documents related to the use of HOT funds.

A workshop will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 5:30 P.M. in City Council Chambers at 803 West Holland Avenue, Alpine, Texas, 79830.

The City of Alpine will not award funds to organizations and/or collaborate with hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts or other short-term lodging facilities that are not current and in good standing with the City of Alpine. The use of HOT funds for fundraisers or scholarships is prohibited by state law.

All applications for funding are due at City Hall, 100 North 13th Street, Alpine, Texas 79830, by 4:30 P.M. on June 7th, attention “City Secretary.”
